This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the TUTR mobile application, which connects teachers (“Instructors”) and students (“Users” or “Learners”) for educational and skill-learning purposes.

By accessing or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We collect only the information that is necessary to provide and improve our services.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Full name

  • Phone number

  • User role (Student or Teacher)

  • Profile information (photo, bio, qualifications, course details – for teachers)

  • Course enrollments and subscriptions

  • Ratings and reviews (stars only)

  • Communications sent via in-app chat or support channels

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device type and operating system

  • App version

  • IP address

  • Language preferences

  • Usage data (pages viewed, features used, timestamps)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts

  • Provide access to courses and subscriptions

  • Process payments via third-party payment providers

  • Apply platform commissions and rewards

  • Enable communication between students and teachers

  • Send notifications related to subscriptions, payments, and rewards

  • Improve app performance and user experience

  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

4. Payments and Financial Data

  • All payments are processed only through third-party payment providers

  • We do not store credit card or bank card information

  • The App deducts a 20% service commission from course payments

  • Optional advertising or promotion fees (e.g., boosting, Instagram ads) are processed separately

  • The App is not responsible for technical or transactional issues caused by payment providers

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

We may share data only in the following cases:

  • With payment providers to complete transactions

  • With SMS or notification services for OTP and alerts

  • With cloud storage providers for media hosting

  • When required by law or government authorities

  • To protect the rights, safety, or integrity of users and the platform

6. Data Storage and Security

  • User data is stored on secure servers

  • We apply technical and organizational measures to protect data

  • Access to personal data is limited to authorized personnel only

  • Despite best efforts, no system is 100% secure

Users agree to:

  • Keep login credentials confidential

  • Not misuse the platform or access data unlawfully

8. Children’s Privacy

  • Students must be at least 13 years old

  • Teachers must be at least 21 years old

  • We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13

  • If such data is discovered, it will be deleted immediately

9. Account Termination and Data Deletion

  • Users may request account deletion via support

  • Upon termination, personal data may be deleted unless retention is required by law

  • Some data (financial records, dispute logs) may be retained for legal compliance

10. Third-Party Services

The App may contain links or integrations with third-party services (payment providers, analytics, customer support tools).
We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage users to review their policies.
